MODESTAS, LUKAS IR ORKESTRAS

In the concert “Modestas, Lukas and Orchestra” the Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra and Maestro Modestas Pitrėnas collaborate with pianist Lukas Geniušas, of whom The Guardian wrote: “He plays with a prize winner’s brilliance, with a mature ability to recreate a work’s architecture, and an expressiveness that doesn’t overtly draw attention to itself. Concert’s programme embraces the works from Viennese classics to monumental work of Rachmaninov.
Rachmaninov’s Second Piano Concerto – marked the composer’s recovery from extremely gloomy period in his life: the concerto was enthusiastically received, and Rachmaninov came back to composing – wrote songs, pieces for piano, worked on several operas simultaneously, conducted; his solo performances were winning plaudits from the audiences.
Beethoven’s Sixth Symphony, known as Pastoral. Its philosophical profoundness was inspired by the harmonious co-existence of a man and nature.
