L. Geniušas is a regular and very much awaited guest in Lithuania. The 27-year-old musician is a prize winner of ten international piano competitions including Gina Bachauer International Piano Competition in Salt Lake City (first prize and gold medal), Fryderyk Chopin International Piano Competition in Warsaw (2 prize and silver medal) and 15th International Tchaikovsky Piano Competition in Moscow (second prize). The pianist appeared with a number of renowned orchestras, gave recitals in Russia, Lithuania, Poland, Sweden, Germany, Spain, Switzerland, France, Austria, Japan, South Korea and the USA. His concert itineraries span from Reingau, Lockenhaus and Verbier festivals to Auditorium du Louvre, Wigmore Hall and La Sala Verdi.
L. Geniušas joins the LNSO in Rachmaninov’s Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini – one of the most challenging compositions in piano literature. It is a large-scale variation cycle composed after Caprice No 24 by Niccolò Paganini, the 19th-century violin virtuoso.
